COLLAGEN – THE STRUCTURAL PROTEIN OF THE SKIN
Native collagen is the most important protein component of connective tissue in the human body. It is well known that a functional collagen network actively influences the appearance of skin. During previous decades, structural proteins, such as collagen, were rather linked to simple scaffolding, regarding to their functionality as part of the connective tissue. Subsequently however, it has been recognized that they actually represent an interactive part of living tissue. The latter has also had an impact on the role of proteins in cosmetic products. The discovery of biologically active peptides has opened up new perspectives as to the possible range of applications of protein components in the cosmetic industry.
THE COLLAGEN BIOMATRIX IN DETAIL
The Collagen Biomatrix has a biologically active structure resembling the structure of collagen in human skin. Due to the special production process, which is patented in Germany, the protein remains in its native form. We have carried out in depth scientific analyses on the structure and composition of the collagenous biomatrix. Furthermore, we investigated the dissociation of collagenous components during the activation of the biomatrix. The outcome: The collagen consists of a range of biologically and cosmetically active elements. The biomatrix is based on insoluble, native collagen fibres. Additionally, it contains both soluble collagen molecules, as well as their components – collagen chains and collagenous peptides. During activation, collagenous fragments and peptides are dissociated from it.
Due to the outcome of these scientific analyses, we were able to redefine the mode of action model of the proven collagen biomatrix: 3PLE ACTION SYSTEM.
